Free IBAN Generator

Generate valid random IBAN numbers for 96+ countries. Everything runs in your browser — no data is ever sent to any server.

How it works

1. Select a country

Pick any country from the dropdown. We support all 36 SEPA countries plus 60+ international IBAN formats — from Germany and France to Brazil and the UAE.

2. Click Generate

A random but mathematically valid IBAN is created using the MOD-97 check digit algorithm (ISO 13616). The check digits are computed correctly so every generated IBAN passes validation.

3. Copy & use

Use generated IBANs for testing payment forms, validating software, or learning how IBAN formats work across different countries. Never use for real transactions.

4. 100% Private

No server, no database, no tracking. The entire IBAN generation runs in your browser using JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device.

What is an IBAN?

IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number. It's a standardised way of identifying bank accounts across national borders, used in over 95 countries worldwide. An IBAN contains a country code, two check digits, and a Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN) that includes the domestic bank code, branch code, and account number.

The IBAN system was developed by the European Committee for Banking Standards (ECBS) and later adopted as ISO 13616. Today, all SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) transfers require an IBAN, making it essential for international banking in Europe and beyond.

SEPA Countries (36 countries)

SEPA IBANs are used for euro-denominated transfers within the EU/EEA, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Andorra, Vatican City, and UK crown dependencies. Lengths range from 15 (Norway) to 31 (Malta) characters.

Non-SEPA IBAN Countries (60+ countries)

Many countries outside Europe have adopted IBAN, including Brazil, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, and many African nations. These use IBAN for international transfers alongside domestic systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these real IBANs?

No. The IBANs generated here are mathematically valid (they pass the MOD-97 check digit verification) but they use randomly generated bank codes and account numbers. They are intended for testing purposes only — do not use them for actual bank transfers.

How does the IBAN check digit work?

IBAN uses the MOD-97 algorithm (ISO 7064). The country code letters are converted to numbers (A=10, B=11, ..., Z=35), then the entire string is rearranged and checked modulo 97. A valid IBAN always gives remainder 1. Learn more →
